This year, the Munich Show will be held for the 50th time at the Munich exhibition center from October 26 to 29. This makes it the oldest guest event of Messe München and one of its longest-standing cooperation partners.
Christoph Keilmann, Managing Director of the organizer Münchner Mineralientage Fachmesse GmbH is pleased: “When my father made the decision to move to the exhibition center back then, it was a very big risk. However, Messe München has always stood by us as a reliable partner over the years and, with its excellent infrastructure, ultimately provided the conditions for growth to its current size. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Dr. Pfeiffer, Mr. Stefan Rummel and the entire team at Messe München for this support and the trusting cooperation.”
With around 1,100 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors, the Munich Show – Mineralientage München is the largest trade fair for natural treasures and one of the leading trading places for gemstones, precious stones and minerals worldwide. It was founded in 1964 as a swap meet and has been held on the grounds of Messe München since 1972 – at that time still in the old halls on the Theresienhöhe.
A highlight of the Munich Show, which has contributed significantly to the reputation of the event, are the annual special shows in cooperation with international natural science museums and collectors. In 2016, for example, the first original T-Rex skeleton in Europe was presented at the Munich Show.
The theme of this year’s special show is “Art d’Objet” and focuses on the works of art that have been created over centuries in the imaging of natural treasures such as minerals and gemstones. To mark the 50th anniversary of cooperation, a ceremony is also planned on the opening day.
