This significant ceremony is witnessed by industry stalwarts Mr. Wong Tat Wah and Mr. Alfred Martin from Tahiti, who have both been appointed as the Honorary Life Presidents of our association.
Mr. Chan Ming Wing, the President of Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong stated that the association is committed to promoting and educating about Tahitian pearls. Recently, the association created a song called "Mesmerized Tahitian Pearl", meaning in love with Tahitian pearls, with the aim of establishing Tahitian pearls as a "star brand" and promoting them to different markets.
The event also featured a jewelry parade of Tahitian pearl jewelry interpreted by Miss Kimmy LOW, the Miss Jewelry Hong Kong, along with models. Some of the jewelry pieces showcased were award-winning designs from the JNA Jewelry Design Competition. Additionally, the premiere of the Tahitian Pearl theme song "Mesmerized Tahitian Pearl" took place. The song, an original creation by Peng Liang who wrote, composed, and performed it, drew inspiration from the unique charm and mysterious colors of Tahitian pearls. The song incorporates praises for Tahitian pearls and longing for the seas of Tahiti, showcasing deep and dreamy emotions. Peng Liang expressed his honor in creating this song, which deepened his understanding of Tahitian pearls' culture and history. He hopes this song can serve as a cultural bridge, allowing people from different backgrounds to resonate through music.
During the evening, a grand ceremony was held where the association's Director General, Mr. He Bin, presented the appointment certificate of "Tahitian Pearl Brand Ambassadors" to Miss JoJo Li, representing vibrant and energetic and Miss Jacqueline Chan, representing elegant and mature. JoJo, full of youthful energy, expressed, "Tahitian pearls with rainbow-like colors and simple designs can already present unique beauty; dynamic earrings can also show a vibrant side." Jacqueline, representing elegance and maturity, stated, "I particularly like the mysterious and charming radiance and unique colors of Tahitian pearls. Each perfect Tahitian pearl is very precious and has earned the title of 'Queen of the Pearl.' Therefore, I interpret the charm of Tahitian pearl jewelry with a mature and elegant image."
Lastly, President, Mr Chan Ming Wing mentioned that to promote Tahitian pearls and give back to society, the association actively participates in charity sales activities. To promote the sustainable development of the jewelry industry, the association sponsors jewelry design competitions and organizes more pearl appreciation and charity sales activities. During the event, a charity sales booth was set up, where guests could purchase Tahitian pearl products at discounted prices, with ten percent of the proceeds donated to the hospice service of Haven of Hope Christian Service.
Director General Mr HE Bin shared the upcoming plan of the association: establish a Tahitian Pearl Pavilion to facilitate the trade and promotion of Tahitian pearls, maintain close contact and communication with the Tahitian government to reflect market conditions, enhance cooperation with Tahitian pearl farmers to provide a more convenient trading platform for all distributors and offer higher quality pearls to the members of the association as well as putting strength on price stability, providing the fastest and most accurate industry information to ensure market stability and transparency.
